Enough to Wear Pink night
In 2004, Terry Wheatley, a wife and mother of two National Finals
Rodeo contestants and a breast cancer survivor, decided to rally
the western community to help with breast cancer research. She
found pink cowboy shirts with the help of Wrangler (no easy
task) and then asked the NFR cowboys to wear them on one night
at the National rodeo in Las Vegas. That first night was a sea
of pink with cowboys and officials all wearing pink shirts in
support of breast cancer research. Since then the program has
grown with rodeos all over country supporting TETWP rodeos that
donate money to this wonderful organization. Saturday night
of our rodeo this year has been designated TETWP night. The
cowboys and officials will be wearing pink and we will be selling
merchandise that will benefit this charity. Join in the fun
and wear pink to show your support on Saturday night!
