Rachael Cravens - Miss Evergreen Rodeo 2012

Miss Evergreen Rodeo - Rachael Cravens

Hey Rodeo fans, hope you’re ready for another fantastic rodeo season! My name is Rachael Cravens and I am extremely honored to represent the town of Evergreen and the fantastic rodeo they host every year. I am currently a student at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada where I am part of the Chamber Orchestra. I have always had a vast love for music and it has been a huge part of my life along with horses. Starting guitar lessons at age six expanded into an interest in violin in fifth grade. Since that time, I have continued to increase my knowledge and experience in music. After high school I plan to further my studies and major in Equine Science.

My love of horses began in the first grade with riding lessons. It only took one ride and I was completely hooked. Within a year I began competing in local gymkhanas. March of 2007 was life changing as it brought about the purchase of my horse, Hollywood, who has taught me patience and perseverance. I continue to compete in multiple gymkhana circuits throughout the year but also love a leisurely trail ride with friends.

I am blessed to hold the title of Miss Evergreen Rodeo 2012. I look forward to being a role model and make a positive impression not just in the rodeo world but for others as well. Meeting the wonderful “behind the scenes” people that make rodeo possible has been the best experience so far and I look forward to further opportunities this year to meet more people who share a love of rodeo. So get those boots and hat ready for a fantastic year of rodeo and I hope to see you Father’s Day weekend at Evergreen’s 2012 Rodeo!

Madison Russell - Evergreen Rodeo Princess 2012

Miss Evergreen Rodeo - Rachael Cravens

Hello Rodeo Fans! My name is Madison Russell and I am honored to be the 2012 Evergreen Rodeo Princess! I am 16 years old and currently a junior at Conifer High School. I am proud to be a Colorado native! I was born in Elizabeth Colorado then moved to Conifer at the age of nine. I love the mountains and being a cowgirl!

I have always been very active and team oriented having spent much of my life playing sports, such as softball, basketball and volleyball! My true passion, however, has always been gymnastics and horses. I was a state champion gymnast in 2004, but was unable to continue after a knee injury. After that, riding became everything to me! At the age of 11 I joined Westernaires, a precision drill riding organization that teaches young people ages 9-18 precision mounted drills riding skills. I ride on several teams including a bareback team and a top division team. I have held several leadership roles on various teams over the years.

I come from a long line of horse lovers. My grandpa gave our family a love of horses and the western lifestyle. He has been the one who has inspired and influenced me the most. When I was 12 he bought me my first horse, a beautiful paint. I feel so fortunate that he has paved the way for me to pursue my passion.

I hope to attend college and have the opportunity to ride on a western equestrian team and to pursue a career in medicine.

The opportunity to serve others while representing The Evergreen Rodeo is truly an honor for me. I hope to be a role model for young girls and boys, and to bring the joy of Rodeo to others! The western way of life has so much history and teaches lessons and values that no other sport can offer. During my reigning year I plan to represent and be an example of what rodeo traditions have been to me and my family. I am ready to fulfill my princess duties at many different rodeos and community events and to represent the toughest sport on dirt… RODEO! I encourage everyone to attend the Evergreen Rodeo 2012 on June 16-17, Father’s day weekend!
